Injury & Illness Prevention Plan

Cal Poly Humboldt’s Injury & Illness Prevention Program provides the framework for preventing workplace injuries and illnesses and promoting a safe and healthy work environment. The campus IIPP establishes university wide safety expectations, while department specific IIPPs address the hazards, responsibilities, and safety practices specific to each department’s operations.

An effective IIPP is more than a written document, it is an ongoing process of identifying hazards, communicating safety information, providing training, correcting unsafe conditions, investigating incidents, and regularly evaluating workplace safety. Departments are responsible for implementing their IIPP with support and guidance from Environmental Health & Safety (EH&S).
