Redwood Region RISE Collaborative Governance Model
Redwood Region RISE brings together 175+ organizations and community leaders from across Tribal Lands and four counties, governed by representatives from across sectors: business, community-based organizations, economic development, education, environmental justice, Tribal entities, government, labor, philanthropy, priority communities, and workforce development — all essential seats on our Voting Member Block.

RRRISE Governance Bodies
Monthly forum for Tribal and Indigenous leadership to share priorities and inform RRRISE decision-making. Open to all 33+ recognized Tribes, Tribal serving non profits, and Indigenous residents.

The primary governing and decision-making body. Up to 77 members across 11 partner categories; approves bylaws and structural changes, meets quarterly and ad hoc as needed. The Voting Block includes a permanent standing Equity Committee — advising on equity issues across the Collaboratives work. The Equity Committee is comprised of up to 13 Voting Block Members; meets monthly.

The RRRISE bylaws provide for the formation of topical Working Groups to advance strategic initiatives as they arise. Currently, the following bodies are convening:

Builds regional capacity around economic development finance tools; meets bi-monthly with monthly expert sessions.
EDF WG Facilitator: Regional Government Services (RGS) (ascott@rgs.ca.gov)
Building capacity to engage in policy and systems change; developing a Policy Platform for the Voting Member Block.
Policy Literacy Working Group Facilitator: Toni Symonds, Policy Works CA (policyworksca@aeromar.com)
Sector-specific bodies, convened by Sector Investment Coordinators, providing technical guidance for Arts, Culture, and Tourism; Health and Caregiving; Renewable and Resilient Energy; and Working Lands and Blue Economy.
Developing a long-term organizational sustainability plan for RRRISE beyond September 2026.
